1 Free sample file

The free sample file allows you to test if POI files can be installed on your navigation device.
Install sample file according to this installation guide.
Afterwards search in your map for 50mph speed cameras.
Find available speed cameras in our speed camera map.

Download sample file

Try before purchase. Refund excluded after download started of full database.

 

2 Download speed camera files

1. Go to our page for Renault Carminat TomTom.
   We offer only data of fixed speed cameras.
   Press button Download.

   

2. Make your decision on the download page.
   Use preselection on the left or country list on the right.
   Press CTRL key for multiple choice.
   
   

   

3. Choose your speed camera icon.
   Import of icons is possible in many devices (not all devices). Select one of the available options.
   See sample icons under each option. The number of speed cameras is the same for each option.
   
   

   

4. Press button Download Now.
   Save file renault.zip on your hard disc.
   
   Note: In most cases, the file is saved directly to the download folder of the computer. Depending on your browser settings, sometimes you can choose the save location by yourself.
   
   

   

5. Unpack the zip file.
   
   Unpacking on a Windows computer: right-klick on the zip file > Extract all...
   Unpacking on a Mac Computer: double-klick on the zip file.

6. Unzipping gets you the folder renault.
   It contains 2 files formats: OV2 (speedcam data) and BMP (icon).
   The number of files depends on your selection in 1st and 2nd step.
   
   

   

   We choose in 2nd step the option "Split into all categories". The file name let you know about the file content.
   Speed values are unitless. It can refer to mph (Great Britain) and kph (Continental Europe).
   Example: British speedcam 30mph and German speedcam 30kph are included in file SCDB_Speed_30.ov2 (if you selected these countries).

   SCDB_Redlight_50	cameras for redlight and speed
   SCDB_Section_40	SPECS, section controls with speed limit 40 mph / kph
   SCDB_Speed_30	speed cameras with speed limit 30 mph / kph
   SCDB_Speed_variable	speed cameras with variable speed limit
   SCDB_Tunnel	cameras in the tunnel or straight after tunnel

 

3 Installation of speed cameras

6. Connect Renault Carminat SD card to your computer.

7. Open Windows Explorer.
   Search for map folder on SD card.
   
   The map folder can have several names (e.g. Europe or Western_and_Central_Europe or Western_Europe).
   Send us your screenshots in case of any help.
   
   

   

8. Copy and paste OV2 and BMP files into your map folder.

9. Insert SD card to Renault Carminat device.
   Start the engine.
   Start the navigation.

10. Enable alerts in the device menu (navigation settings).

4 Updating speed cameras

Repeat all steps of the guide above to update speed cameras in your device.
Monthly updates will be recommended.
